In an effort to ensure equitable and fair grading practices in elementary schools throughout the Baldwin County Public School System, the district has adopted a standard grading format to be used with all students in grades 1-6. All grades earned by students should reflect the degree to which they have learned and mastered grade-level curricular standards mandated by the Alabama State Department of Education.
1st through 6th grades, Baldwin County Public Schools utilize the following grading system:
A = 90-100
B = 80-89
C = 70-79
D = 60-69
F = 59-0
*Kindergarten will receive a quarterly skills checklist.
In elementary school, the grades are weighted as follows:
Summative Assessments 40%
Formative Assessments 60%
Parents/guardians are encouraged to check grades on a regular basis and communicate with your child’s teacher as needed. Grades can be checked electronically through PowerSchool.
