Mrs. Allyson Maxwell

Greetings, Bay Minette Elementary Families!

It is with great honor and enthusiasm that I write this letter of introduction to you as your new Principal at Bay Minette Elementary School. I am so excited to join the Bay Minette community and school faculty, and I feel as though I know you, as I am just moving a few miles down the lane, from serving this year at Perdido School as Assistant Principal.

Originally from Arkansas, my family and I have been Alabama residents now for 10 years, and I have served Baldwin County students and educators in various capacities. My husband Grant and I have three children- Cash, who is a College Sophomore at Baylor University, Olivia who is a High School Senior and soon to be attending SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design) in September, and Carson, who is an 8th grader at Spanish Fort Middle School. We live in Spanish Fort and serve at Eastern Shore Baptist Church, where I help teach children’s choir and Grant and I help to teach a life group to middle school students.

I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education at Arkansas State University, my Master’s Degree in Reading from Harding University, and my Educational Leadership Certification from the University of West Alabama. I spent several years in the classroom and then went on to work for various school districts in the state of Arkansas and Alabama as a content provider in school Curriculum, Data, Professional Learning Communities, and other areas of School Improvement.

As an employee for Baldwin County Schools, I have been fortunate to serve as a Literacy Specialist at WJ Caroll Intermediate School, Elberta Intermediate School, Bay Minette Intermediate School, Belforest Elementary, and most currently, I served as an Assistant Principal at Belforest Elementary and Perdido School.

I am honored to become a part of Bay Minette Elementary, and spend time getting to know the faculty, staff and community and continue as a proud member of the Baldwin County feeder pattern.  I believe that everyone has genius. I look forward to partnering with you as we seek out the worth and potential of every student. I believe that every child has the ability to learn, and to learn at high levels. It is my commitment to you to teach our students, get to know them and their strengths, and work alongside our school team to help fill in gaps and extend their learning to prepare them for middle school, high school, and beyond. I will always be available to you, and I welcome you into our school to partner alongside us as we carry out your child’s academic future.

As Bay Minette’s mission statement says, “Make Every Minute Count!”, I am excited to partner with you to grow your student academically and to create proud future citizens of Baldwin County!

Sincerely,

Allyson Maxwell

Principal of Bay Minette Elementary School
